Welcome to our djembé workshop specially designed for the visually impaired, an immersive experience where music becomes a universal language accessible to everyone!
During this workshop, we will explore the percussion traditions of West Africa through its iconic instrument, the djembé. Our experienced instructors will share the fascinating history of the djembé, its traditional craftsmanship, tuning techniques, and the different playing techniques, including tone, bass, and slap.
Through a tactile and auditory approach, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the various parts of the djembé, feel the texture of its wood, learn how to tune it, and practice different striking techniques to produce varied and rhythmic sounds.
A specially adapted educational guide will be provided to help you throughout the workshop, offering detailed information and practical exercises to reinforce your learning.
With around 20 djembés available, you will have the chance to practice and play in a group, creating a rich and rewarding collective musical experience.
